Florence Museums: Open!
Florence's museums are open from 7 July. The Uffizi, Palazzo Pitti, and Galleria dell'Accademia are once again open to visitors with all the health and safety measures that have now become part of daily life. Enjoy the Uffizi’s great masterpieces from the Middle Ages to the modern age, or Michelangelo's David and the other splendid sculptures exhibited at the Galleria dell'Accademia, both just a 5-minute walk from Residence Hilda. Then of course there’s the magnificent Apollinee rooms of Palazzo Pitti, the historic residence of the Medici family.
The Uffizi opening hours are every day from 9am to 6:30pm (except on Mondays), the Galleria dell'Accademia is open from 9am to 6pm from Tuesday to Sunday, and Palazzo Pitti is open from 8:30am to 1:30pm from Tuesday to Sunday. Visiting Florence with friends? No problem. Groups of up to 10 people are admitted into the museums.
Palazzo Pitti will also host concerts for the "Reggia medicea in musica" festival. At 11am on Saturday, the students and teachers of Florence’s “Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini” will perform in the splendid Sala Bianca. Short concerts will last no more than 40 minutes, with pieces ranging from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
