An extraordinarily elevated passageway is approximately 750 meters long and connects the Uffizi to Palazzo Pitti, crossing the Ponte Vecchio. Built in 1565 by the architect Giorgio Vasari at the behest of Cosimo I de’ Medici, the Vasari Corridor allowed the grand ducal family to move safely between the palace and the seat of political power in the city. Those who walk along it now can admire wonderful views of Florence and experience the charm of Renaissance Florence. This authentic secret passage preserves the memory of a unique era, when Florence was the beating heart of the Renaissance.

To access the Vasari Corridor, advance reservations are required with named tickets. These can be purchased online through the official website of the Uffizi Galleries. The combined ticket for the Uffizi + Vasari Corridor currently costs 43 euros, with reduced prices available for specific visitor categories. The entrance is reached via the Uffizi, where you must arrive at least two hours before the reserved time slot. The Vasari Corridor is visited in small groups to ensure everyone enjoys an uncrowded experience and also to pay respect to the space and its centuries of history.
